WALLCHAIR Inc. is a family owned company which
conceived and now produces the Wallchair.
These products enable seating in tight places where
otherwise, there could be none, such as mudrooms,
hallways, entranceways, waiting rooms, and dressing rooms.
Our products help architects, interior designers, contractors,
and individuals, deal with floor spaces which are too small to
safely accommodate stand alone furniture.
Our flip up seats also cater to the elderly or people with reduced mobility.
Sometimes people need seating in places where stand-alone furniture is
not an option (ie: near or in elevators, grocery stores, malls etc.).
HISTORY:
My father in law lived in a small, ranch-style home in a suburb of Montreal Canada. The entranceway was a small cove between the front door and a set of double doors which opened into the house. His wife was not very mobile and required a place to sit, just by the front door; upon leaving or entering the house. My father in law would have to move one of the kitchen chairs back and forth to the entranceway every time she was coming or going. This initiated the birth of the now- patented, Wallchair. It had to be strong, low profile, and mountable to wood or metal stud walls (the most popular in North America) with little or no wall modifications required.
We also have decided to sell another type of wall mounted flip-up seat suitable for wet environments such as showers and baths, for those who can't tolerate the clutter of a stand-alone stool. These chairs are also suitable for outdoor environments.
